Rather than offering a predefined format, each commission explores how sound, space, participation and atmosphere might create the conditions for a threshold experience unique to its setting.
Whether creating an intimate listening environment for twenty people or developing a large scale site responsive commission, every project is conceived specifically for its context.

Each Threshold Experience is uniquely developed in response to its setting,
drawing together composed sonic environments, intuitive live composition,
voice, vibrational instruments and silence to create an immersive experience that remains open to individual interpretation.

Maison Moemoea is the dedicated sonic strand of Emma Winter Studio.
Where a commission extends beyond the sonic, projects can evolve through the wider multidisciplinary practice of the studio, drawing on the most appropriate media, materials and disciplines to realise each commission.
