A recorded sonic work exploring shifts in perspective through attentive listening and imagination.

Moving between the intimate and the expansive, Taking Flight invites the listener on an imagined journey from the microscopic to the vast, before returning once again. Layered sound, voice and silence create the conditions for a gradual change in perception, allowing each listener to navigate the work in their own way.

Listening

Set aside approximately 90 minutes where you can listen without interruption.

You may wish to create a quiet, comfortable environment before beginning.

Headphones are strongly recommended to experience the full spatial detail of the recording.

Guidance begins five minutes into the work, allowing time to settle before listening.

Please do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
